Hungry To Hear The Voice Of God For Yourself? Why Your Hunger Matters!
Nothing worse than not knowing where we are going, right?
And suddenly we find ourselves in;
A place of deep sadness,
A place of restlessness,
A place of unfruitfulness,
A place of depression that even is able to rob you of physical hunger.
What’s going on?!
What’s happening is a direct picture of what’s happening in the unseen realm.
Unseen Vs Seen.
Everything we see around us is fast, spinning around us, things come and go and our existence itself seems fleeting.
How do we overcome that fast-paced-world?
How do we overcome the pleasure, that satisfaction with these fleeting things?
The flesh is a picture of the physical realm. The Spirit is the spiritual realm, the unseen realm or the “supernatural” realm.
Interestingly, the Hebrew mindset doesn’t see the spiritual realm separate from the physical realm.
What happens in the physical realm is merely reflecting what’s going on behind “the scenes”.
Jesus made the statement in John 6 that there is absolutely NO worth in ANYTHING YOU SEE AROUND YOU (the physical realm).
So when Jesus spoke this to his disciples He pointed out the weight of His words:
His words are everything.
His words are life.
Mhm...
That takes us to meditate, think about and ponder this truth coming from our Saviour:
No life.
In nothing you see, touch, hear, feel, smell, taste in this physical realm.
Everything coming from the physical brings death, eventually.
First spiritual slumber, spiritual death and then eventually physical death.
Have we been fooled?
Yes.
Growing up we learned to believe a lie.
Now it’s time to repent, if we want life.
Let’s think differently!
How To Hear God’s Life-Words
There is more than one pearl in this verse:
The Greek word used here as “word” is “rhema”, which – when we study the different uses within Jesus’ sayings – are words that He speaks directly to us.
Those hungry for life will hear within the “rhema” words directly within his/her spirit.
Jesus Christ as the person in the flesh is the Word, pretty much always described as “logos” within the New Testament.
Much like a written epistle, a letter.
His life and also the scriptures are a letter.
But not just Him walking on earth, nor just the scripture, but also everything that you can see in the physical realm is made through Him.
We can see this in the following two verses:
In John 1 the word “logos” is being used, which refers to His inscription in the physical realm.
Here it is said that He upholds everything by His word, by His rhema-word.
Back to the thought that God speaks directly to us.
God created us as spirits.
He created us to be in oneness with Him, step in step with His Spirit.
Now what was translated here as “cool” of the day is actually in Hebrew the word “ruah” ( רוּחַ).
“Ruah” is referring to the wind or breath of God, which is nothing else than His Spirit.
You hear His voice in the spirit of the day - whereas “night” or “darkness” refers to the kingdom of darkness.
The day is referring to the Kingdom of God, as those who are in Him are children of the “day” (1.Thessalonians 5:5).
We are created to walk with Him.
You are made to hear His voice.
Daily.
Every hour.
In every moment.
This is what brings you life. That’s your origin. That’s your real life.
LIFE in Hebrew thinking* is a full stomach.
Imagine: living in a desert requires one to have water and food in the stomach.
If there is an empty stomach, death draws near very quickly.
So food here on earth is essential.
Spiritual as much as physical food - or according to Christ even more!
Are you hungry yet?
If so, be certain you’ll hear His voice.
Jesus Christ’s promise to you:
Notice: “If his son asks for bread, will he give him a stone?”
I believe there are no such things as coincidences.
Bread is His Word
is His Voice
is Jesus Christ.
What then is missing? Ask, ask ask!
God’s heart longs with the deepest yearnings for you to simply ask.
❤️️ As I write this, I pray the following for you, Dear Reader ❤️️:
Father God, I pray in Jesus Christ’s name, that you instil in everyone reading this post a deep hunger for your Word Jesus Christ.
He is the living bread that came down from heaven.
Thank you for opening our spiritual ears. Amen.
